Its tasks are of a proactive and advisory nature regarding strategies and funding to promote scientific research at the University and the identification of indicators for the proper monitoring and review of the University's research, including for VQR purposes. The Commission is composed of the Rector's Delegate for Scientific Research, the Coordinator/Coordinator of the Academic Senate's Research Commission, the Head of the Research, Technology Transfer and Third Mission Directorate and two lecturers for each ERC macro-sector. It avails itself of the work of the Research Observatory which, consisting of 16 members - one for each CUN area (or sub-area) present in the University - has the task of organising and updating information on research products, as well as collecting data and information useful for assessing the University's research structures and initiatives and proposing parameters and criteria for the classification of scientific productivity.
